Project Runway season 16 winner prediction: Who should or will win?
This season’s Project Runway hasn’t been all that sweet. As the season comes to an end, the Project Runway season 16 winner prediction is a debate about who should or will win.
Any reality television show needs good drama to keep viewers watching. Even the most loyal fan doesn’t want the same show each and every episode. This season’s Project Runway has been filled with drama. From cheating scandals to various sized models, Project Runway looked to spice things up during season 16. Now with five designers remaining, fans want to know who should or who will be the Project Runway season 16 winner.
At the close of the last episode, Project Runway announced that all five remaining designers would be making collections for New York Fashion Week. The final five designers are Brandon, Kentaro, Ayana, Margarita and Kenya. While all five designers will make a collection, only three designers will show at New York Fashion Week. But have those three coveted spots already been decided?
Brandon has been the judges’ darling from the start. The menswear designer went from unconfident to the leading challenge winner. After a few challenges, everyone could spot Brandon’s designs on the runway.

These androgynous looks blend street inspired wear with menswear. While the colors are often muted, the designs have been deemed fashion forward by the judges. Although some of the designs may not be for the normal woman, the judges believe that Brandon’s fashion pushes boundaries.
Based on the previous challenges, Brandon seems destined for New York Fashion Week. While his looks may not be practical or completely wearable, they make people think about fashion. Unless, Brandon completely messes up his collection, the Project Runway title is within his grasp.
Ayana is another designer who has offered a different perspective in Project Runway season 16. As a modest designer, her looks are much more covered than any other looks. Even though the looks are modest, her designs are feminine and sexy.

Overall, many of Ayana’s looks have been both innovative and thought provoking. Although her winter wonderland look was a little costume-like, she deserves a place at New York Fashion Week. The idea that a woman can look alluring without showing tons of skin is important. Given the world’s current climate, this type of fashion could be on point. Ayana should make it to New York Fashion Week. Although she may not beat Brandon, her perspective is needed in the fashion world.
The remaining three designers all have an equal chance of showing at New York Fashion Week. Each designer has had high points and very low points throughout the season. Their inconsistencies make their odds of being winner somewhat more unlikely.

Kentaro has some of the most luxurious looks of the season. The winter wonderland design was divine, as was the Heidi Klum print challenge. When Kentaro is on point, he can make exquisite clothes. But he’s inconsistent.
When Kentaro is pushed out of his comfort zone, he loses his confidence. With a very clear direction, Kentaro could make a beautiful collection. He can’t overthink or over-complicate his looks. Hopefully, the inspired Kentaro makes an appearance in the finale.
Margarita is the girly designer of the group. Her designs are fun. From bold color choices to flowing designs, her looks can make you smile. Her criticism throughout the season was that she didn’t have her own unique voice. That judges’ criticism seemed unfair. Could she be the Project Runway season 16 winner?

Creating designs that women want to wear is a voice. Maybe it isn’t the most fashion forward, dramatic look for a runway. Still, she has a voice that can, and would, appeal to a broad audience. Margarita won the JC Penney challenge. Her innovative shirt dress was girly, fun and fashionable. At some point fashion needs to be wearable. Margarita offers that perspective.
Kenya played an important role for Project Runway this season. Since she knew how to design and dress full figured models, she had less trouble with this season’s twist. But she doesn’t always execute. The tailoring may be impeccable, but the looks are often just missing something.

Unfortunately Kenya never won a single challenge. The “always the bridesmaid, never the bride” scenario doesn’t bode well for the finale. Also, Project Runway previously crowned a full-figured fashion designer in a recent season. While Kenya could produce a fabulous show, it is doubtful that she will be in the running for the ultimate prize.
Going into the first part of the Project Runway finale, two spots seem to be confirmed before the episode airs. Brandon and Ayana are highly likely to move forward. The remaining third spot is a toss-up.
Next: Project Runway: Winter wonderland designs
Since the show has already taped, I’m willing to guess that all five designers actually showed their collections. For filming purposes and to keep the audience guessing, these situations often happen. With the collections focusing on spring/summer, I think that Margarita has a good shot for the third spot. Her Puerto Rican influences should benefit her with that seasonal look.
Still, everyone will have to wait and see the final outcome of Project Runway season 16. Will these Project Runway Season 16 winner predictions be fashionably in or out?
