The Internet has feelings about the Riverdale premiere

The Internet is here to talk about season 2 of Riverdale. We’ll let Twitter tell you how we really feel about the Riverdale premiere.

There’s a lot to unpack in the Riverdale premiere. All of the sudden, Archie is interesting and relevant, Jughead is flirting with his Southside roots and driving a motorcycle, and there’s a serial killer on the loose. (RIP Ms. Grundy). It was jam packed with culty, noir-goodness, and fans have been waiting all summer to pick up where we left off.

Riverdale, because it’s just so juicy and campy, has amassed quite the fandom, and all those River Vixens and Bulldogs are a vocal bunch. As soon as the Riverdale premiere started, fans took to the interwebs to say how they (and we) really feel.

A lot of the reactions had to do with KJ Apa and his surprisingly heartfelt performance. This episode was mostly about Archie, and this is the first time we get any real teeth from this character.

Fans agree. The KJ-nation is strong, folks. There was a particular scene that really had them buzzing. You know the one….

The rumors are already starting about a crossover romance. Never mind the Varchie. Fans aren’t fazed. The heart wants what the heart wants.

Not to be outdone, Jughead is getting a fair amount of social love, as well. Maybe it’s his new bad boy turn or all that wisdom he’s dropping in the voiceovers. Fans are even starting to get a little creative in ‘shipping news.

Additionally, Cheryl is getting her 15 minutes of Twitter fame as well. I predict she’s going to be the buzziest of the characters this season. She’s equal parts scary and psychotic, and she has all the style in the world. If I’m going to be burned to death, threatened with total control, and emotionally blackmailed, please let it be by Cheryl Blossom. She’s badass, and fans are showing up to support our favorite red-headed villain.

And in “things that I want and need” news. Fans are demanding that Riverdale get its due.
