What kind of plan does Ross Poldark have for helping his friend out of a tough situation on season 3 of Poldark? That’s just one of our questions this week.
Once again, we’re facing down a weekend that includes a fresh episode from season 3 of Poldark. After last week’s episode, here’s what’s making us curious while we wait for another hour featuring Demelza, Ross, and all the rest of our favorite characters.
How does Ross plan on rescuing Dwight now?
Ross has successfully returned to England, with very little to show Caroline — albeit enough to give her some tiny slivers of hope. Unfortunately, it came at the cost of one of the easy entrances into France becoming a dangerous place for him to return, and one suspects Demelza will not let him go so easily again.
Meanwhile, last week’s episode showed us more clearly what Dwight’s up against as a prisoner of war. Dwight doesn’t seem like the solo-prison breaking type, but circumstances might push him to take the risk, and it would neatly solve the problem of having to probably make Demelza and Ross fight again after the season has seen them slowly repairing their relationship so far. Not that there’s not room for that, but the point remains … let’s let the drama come from Dwight being in danger first and foremost.
How long will Geoffrey Charles get away with everything?
Like I said in talking about the season premiere, Geoffrey has quickly become a pretty great character after mostly being in the background or a plot device for two seasons.
But the same problem I also identified then is still looming, and that problem’s name is George Warleggan. George has gone quiet about adopting Geoffrey, but we expect that the next time he and Elizabeth are at Trenwith, those sorts of things will flare up yet again. Even if the adults don’t return that soon, that doesn’t mean things can’t change considerably for our young rebel in the making, even as he points out that things like Trenwith technically belong to him.

Where did Sam get those fancy duds?
Is this photo just an excuse to just look at Tom York and Aidan Turner again? We submit that it is not, and we have proof that it is not.
It’s clearly trending toward winter, and it looks as though Sam’s efforts (because Drake is still more concerned with Morwenna and being buddies with Geoffrey) are paying off. He’s suddenly looking a lot more like a proto-Mr. Collins in his fashion choices:
So it’s fitting, but it also implies that he has some money coming in — maybe not Ross-and-Demelza levels, but enough to keep him looking the part.

Much as we’ve seen of Drake, it might be Sam’s time to shine on this week’s Poldark.
