During a new interview, actor Idris Elba has revealed details of an “awkward” encounter with Taylor Swift at the 2016 Met Gala in New York City.

According to a report by Us Weekly on October 4, Elba recently spoke to The New York Times about his appearance at the Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology event and admitted that he had no idea about Swift’s feud with rapper Kanye West.

During his chat with The New York Times, the 45-year-old Mountain Between Us star played a game of “Confirm and Deny” in regard to different rumors and reports about him. In turn, Elba revealed that while he enjoyed his time at the 2016 Met Gala, things got a bit awkward” as he and Swift presented an award.

Things got ‘awks’ at the 2016 Met Gala

“We were walking through the crowd and obviously, there was a little beef between Taylor and Kanye. I didn’t know any of this. But I was there! And I was, like, ‘Oh, this is awks,'” Elba recalled.

Although Swift and West don’t appear to have crossed paths during the event, things between them have been tense ever since West ripped the mic out of Swift’s hand at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and declared that Beyonce should have won the award for Best Video.

Is Taylor Swift’s feud with Kanye West over?

In Swift’s eyes, the answer to that question appears to be “no,” at least judging by her alleged hidden disses in the music video for “Look What You Made Me Do.” That said, a source recently told Us Weekly magazine that Kim Kardashian and her husband aren’t concerned or interested in keeping their feud going.

“Kim and Kanye have been through a lot of real life situations in the last year, so Taylor Swift’s music video is not on their radar,” the insider added at the time.
