Marvel’s Inhumans season 1 episodes 1 and 2 preview
Marvel’s Inhumans premieres on ABC this Friday, Sept. 29 at 8pm. We have both new episodes’ official synopses and more for you!
So Marvel’s Inhumans doesn’t have the best press about it. It’s supposed to but not really replace that dropped Inhumans movie from the MCU’s Phase IV.
And fans aren’t necessarily as excited for it as they are for the return of Agents of SHIELD in the winter. But we here at Culturess are ready to take on anything and everything comic book. So we’ll tune in and voice our two cents, and be the big Marvel nerds we are!
Here’s the official synopsis for the first two episodes, “Behold…The Inhumans!” and “Those Who Would Destroy Us,” courtesy of ABC:
"After a military coup leaves the Royal Family stranded in Hawaii, they must find a way to reunite with each other and return home before their way of life is destroyed forever."
The big hope is that this series will have some sort of tie — any sort of tie — to Agents of SHIELD. SHIELD spent pretty much all of its last few seasons tackling the Inhumans issue.
While that show wouldn’t necessarily know about Attilan or the Royal Family, it’s easy to have Medusa stumble upon some of SHIELD’s initiatives. Or at least the bad press around Inhumans.
That’s always the hope, right?
Regardless of tie-ins, it will be interesting to see where this series takes us. These first two episodes premiered in IMAX back at the start of September. Most critics came away unimpressed. But perhaps it’ll warm up after these introductory episodes.
More importantly, when will we meet the best character ever, Lockjaw, who, as Entertainment Weekly notes, shows up plenty in the new trailer? Right at the start of the premiere? Or will they make us wait? And can we please get a reference to Kamala Khan?
