New York, a place where the lights aren’t blinding and where there’s a kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats under coats (thanks, Taylor). It’s a magical city where life never sleeps. No matter the time of day, New York will always be the place to be. It’s riveting and it’s magical. It’s a city that consists of a never-ending list of things to do. The city inspires creativity, especially in the form of fashion.
What’s so great about New York fashion? There’s fashion all around us but yes, yes there is something very city about the fashion in the Big Apple. We’ve seen pictures and we’ve read articles, oh, and Taylor Swift has shown by her example that fashion in New York is far different than fashion anywhere else. You can be whoever you want in the big city and maybe, just maybe that’s why the fashion is remarkable.
We’ve fallen in love with New York fashion thanks to Swift, and now, we’re going to show you our favorite looks the singer has sported while walking the city. Why? Because we’re inspired by her style and we think you might be too. Who knows, you might want to try an outfit or two that fits the Fall season. Floral Striped Dress
Who doesn’t love a good floral dress? But when you add stripes to it, well, that’s a different story. Not to mention, Swift bought this dress at H&M. Affordable, right? While we aren’t sure if H&M carries this exact dress anymore, we’re sure they have clothing that is similar. It’s cute, chic, and is perfect for a day out on the town. Swift has never made New York look so good. Right? We wish we could borrow this item from her closet.
New York Casual
Who doesn’t love a day where you can just be casual and cute while still walking the city? We know Swift probably does. That’s why every once in awhile we see her sporting a casual outfit and this one just happens to be one of our favorites. That hoodie looks like it would be so cozy in the Fall and winter months, and the Oxford shoes are to die for. Can we own a pair of those, Taylor? We wish.
Golden Dress
We don’t have much to say about this one, except how much we love it and wish we had owned something like it. The dress was worn in 2014 during the 1989 era, and the photos look like she was ready for a photo shoot. A dress like this is perfect for every kind of season, especially the Fall months that are coming up. But, don’t be fooled. It also works great for Summer and Spring. We’re almost positive you can find something similar to this dress at Forever 21 or Urban Outfitters.
Classy Black Ensemble
A shirt tucked into a skirt but Swift makes it look amazing and super comfortable. We love this look because the songstress can always pull off an all-black outfit, and we believe we can learn a thing or two from her. Black is a color that she owns very well and we all aspire to do the same.
Stripes
We are getting some major Red flashbacks with this outfit. While it may not be your typical New York fashion attire, Swift pulls it off. She also decided to go back to the Red era for the door and sport the famous stripes she did so back then. Not to mention, we love her shoes. Can we raid her closet and borrow all the Oxfords she owns? You can easily wear her shirt though. You can find striped shirts at any retail store near you.
Heels
Heels make a statement, especially when you’re walking the city. What makes more of a statement is bright colored heels with a simple colored outfit. It brings out the bold side of your style and your mood all at once. We can tell that Swift is sassy but sweet when she wears bright heels. She’s a force to be reckoned with, which is how it should be. Buy your favorite color in heels at any shoe or retail store.
Leopard
Swift is on the prowl. She sported a leopard print jacket on the streets of New York one night in 2016. It’s a sassy look for Swift and reminds us a little bit of the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. She, of course, finished off the outfit with a bold lip. Could we ask for anything better?
Yellow Lace
For a night out, Swift decided to wear this summery lace crop top outfit. It’s an outfit that suits her well and matches the NYC vibe. The outfit is accessorized with a bright pink purse and a black blouse. It’s casual chic and oh so cute.
Denim Black
New York is a place that is always up for those nights out where you feel like being edgy. We see that this is how Swift felt during a girls night out in the city. We love this look because it’s something we can all pull off and Swift shows it off effortlessly. How could we not want the look?
We don’t know what we’re more jealous of. The fact that Swift looks so perfect all the time or her outfit that is perfectly matched? This outfit is to die for and those heels are killer. It’s the perfect outfit for any night out or even a shopping day. We love the colors she added in. They make a statement but are subtle enough to look classy. We need this outfit now.
