The magic never rests in the Wizarding World — and neither does the fun in the world of Harry Potter. Recently, it was announced that Harry Potter: A History of Magic, would be released in conjunction with the anniversary of the Sorcerer’s Stone.

However, Harry Potter: History of Magic seems to be unlike any Harry Potter documentary ever before.

While the documentary is absolutely going to follow the magic of the series, according to hellogiggles, it will explore even more than that. Nothing is off the table, including the history of magic in our own world that went into shaping Harry Potter. Artifacts, lore, and other myths will be looked at in how they helped shape the series we all love.

That’s not the only part that is different about this documentary. While, of course, it will focus on JK Rowling, the documentary will go through certain artifacts to be on display at the British Library’s Harry Potter Exhibition.

More from Culturess

"In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the British Library exhibition Harry Potter: A History of Magic unveils rare books, manuscripts, and magical objects from their collection, capturing the traditions of folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories."

We can also expect illustrations and original drafts seen for the first time!

According to the BBC on the subject of the documentary:

"Harry Potter: History of Magic is to be shown on BBC Two and will follow the exhibition in the run up to its opening at the British Library, as the ancient texts, artefacts and artwork are put on display. Harry Potter: History Of Magic includes an interview with J.K. Rowling talking about some of the personal items she has donated to the exhibition whilst readings from famous fans playfully recreate some of the best loved spells, potions and magical moments from the series, exploring the origins of the world of Hogwarts, from basilisks through to broomsticks."

These two seem like they’ll be going hand in hand. The British Library’s exhibition will give us an even more inside look at Harry Potter than we’ve ever seen. If you can’t get to the exhibition, Harry Potter: A History of Magic will show you all you need to see. So rest assured Wizards, no matter where you live, you’ll definitely be getting a piece of the magic.
