You’re doing amazing, sweetie.

After 22 years in the business, Gabrielle Union is attending her first Emmy Awards and her excitement is our excitement. Tonight, she’s presenting an award — which one, TBD — but we wouldn’t be surprised if she was a nominee in the near future. (#JusticeforBeingMaryJane.) In the meantime, her mere attendance will have to be enough.

This post will be updated as we track all the great and endearing things Union shares as she makes her way through her first night. The 2017 Emmys air Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern on your local CBS channel or online with CBS All Access and red carpet coverage kicks off on E! at 6 p.m. Eastern.

Prep

Gabby started the day by marking the occasion on Twitter, recognizing the hard work she’s put in over the years and congratulating her buds who were nominated.

Then, it was onto brunch with husband (and NBA star) Dwyane Wade, set to the celebratory sounds of Hall & Oates, specifically “You Make My Dreams Come True.” (Which we know courtesy of dual posts on Snapchat or Instagram story — pick your expiring social media of choice.)

After that, however, it was down to business and into the hair and makeup chair, from which Union shared a Before look and an update midway through the process.

Ready and en route

There is the final look…

But then there’s also the pre-departure selfie, the thank you selfie and the car selfie — as you do en route to your first Emmys!

Wade even got in on the action, snapchatting the couple’s tickets and also jamming on the way to the theater. (Unfortunately, Wade did not bless us with audio, but let’s believe they’re still listening to Hall & Oates.)

During the show

Before it came time to take the stage as a presenter, Union shared some selfies with her equally accomplished seat neighbors. Featured on the Snap story: Tracee Ellis Ross, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, and Issa Rae, snubbed but also presenting.

During the show, Gabrielle — still looking fabulous — presented the award for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series to Bruce Miller for The Handmaid’s Tale. LL Cool J was also there.
