The new Punisher photos still don’t give us a premiere date
Netflix and Marvel flooded the internet with new stills from Marvel’s Punisher”series. And we still don’t have a date! Let’s take a look anyway.
Marvel’s Punisher is next up for the Netflix series, following on the heels of The Defenders from this past August.
And yet, we still don’t have a premiere date! Here we sit in mid-September, and November is less than six weeks away.
Netflix and Marvel posted a bunch of new stills from the series online. Still no premiere date. But that shouldn’t bother us too much, should it?
The stills don’t give us too many hints about what exactly this Punisher series has in store in terms of storyline. It’s easy to guess that a lot of flashbacks to the military will take place. And we’ll probably see just what happens to Frank’s family (more than the glimpses in Daredevil’s second season).

Most importantly, we get a good look at Ben Barnes’ big bad, Jigsaw. In the comics, Jigsaw is the hired hand to cover up the botched assassination that Frank’s family gets caught in. In the show, he’s also a combat friend of Frank’s. And owns his own private military company!
That bodes well, right?
People have praised Barnes’ acting in Westworld, so there’s little doubt that he can make this role diabolically evil. …Even with Marvel’s villain problems.
We also kind of already guessed Karen Page’s inclusion (and not just from leaked set photos). She and Frank had a connection in Daredevil and it would be a waste to let that go. So what exactly might Ms. Page be up to? Trying to clear Frank’s name using the press? Trying to help him uncover the reality of Jigsaw’s military company?
I still want to know when and where Claire Temple shows up. But that will come when the episodes arrive; they usually don’t tease her appearance beforehand, especially if it’s only for an episode or two.
Next: Thor: Ragnarok has mostly improvised scenes, and that makes it awesome
Marvel’s Punisher will come out sometime this year, most likely in November.
