LISTEN: Taylor Swift Drops Promo Single ‘.Ready For It?’

If you thought you were ready for it, you weren’t. Taylor Swift has dropped a promo single for her sixth studio album reputation and it’s killer.
While fans weren’t expecting to hear a new song from Swift so soon, the singer decided to drop a surprise on Saturday night during the college football game between Alabama and Florida State. The track “.Ready For It?” previewed during a lead in for the game. The song is the first promo single Swift will release leading up to the drop date on November 10.
“.Ready For It?” is more direct and pop-oriented than “Look What You Made Me Do”. This track features an infectious throbbing baseline with plenty of interlocking melodies that leaves the listener wanting more. It’s certainly a swerve in musical direction but it’s not a bad thing.
Lyrically, it’s a love song with many hidden messages that we know the fans will figure out. iTunes lists the track as the opening for the album, which, in our opinions, is a smart move.
