Taylor Swift’s Album Covers Ranked
By Kara Johnson
Taylor Swift is dropping a new single at Midnight EST and a new album entitled Reputation on November 10, 2017. With that, Swift has also revealed her album cover.
After a three-year hiatus, Swift is finally back and is coming back stronger than ever. With a new album coming to us in a matter of months and a new album cover design, we decided to celebrate by ranking each album cover in the singer’s discography from least to greatest. Take a look and let us know whether or not we got it right.
Taylor Swift
The album cover is simple and sweet. It showcases the cutesy country girl we all fell in love with. But it’s definitely an album cover for a debut album and one of the few that showcases her entire face. While we love this album cover, the evolution of Swift over the years has matured exceptionally and we enjoy the other covers a lot more.
Speak Now
This album cover definitely showcases the magical and enchanteing era that it was. Little did we know it would be the last album cover that we would see of Swift’s curly locks. The cover symbolizes everything the era represented and for that reason alone is why we love it for what it was. But, we do think that one of the other photos from the album shoot would have made a better cover.
Fearless
This album cover and photo showcases the fearlessness Swift portraye throughout the entire album. Not to mention, we are obsessed with her curly locks in this photo. Swift is fearless and the photo represents it perfectly.
1989
This album cover is the perfect pop aesthetic. It’s also the perfect debut cover for your first ever pop album. Swift nailed it.
RED
Can we talk about the beauty in this album cover? It displays such raw emotion the moment you look at it. You can tell what the sound will be just by the photo. Her red lipstick is well on display, which shows great significance for the several emotions portrayed throughout the album. It’s one of the most symbolic album covers in Swift’s career and one of our favorites to date.
Reputation
Yes, this is Swift’s album cover for her sixth studio album and we’re obsessed. Why? The symbolism is fierce and it displays Swift wanting to come back stronger than ever. The cover alone portrays the media and how half of her image (one side of her face) is covered in headlines and how the public or media portrays her. The other side (the one that is wiped clean from headlines) showcases the side that is her true self and the side that her fans know. It represents who she truly is. There is so much symbolism in this piece of art that we can’t help but mark it as our favorite album cover to date.
