We hope you haven’t been living under a rock this week. If you have, this is the worst week you could have done that. Taylor Swift is back and you need to be here for it.
Last Friday after a three-year hiatus, Taylor Swift came out of the shadows without saying a single word. How? She blacked out all of her social media and left it dark for two days after the fact. As soon as this took place, the world erupted. Swift had broken her silence and she didn’t have to speak.
From that moment on, the world has been completely enthralled by Swift and what she might do next. Over the weekend she was silent. But come Monday morning, the world would erupt once more as the pop star shared a cryptic 10-second video of what appeared to be a reptile or snake of some sort. The two days prior to the first video, Swift released to more. After the final clip, it was revealed to be a snake.
And then the moment came. The moment we were all waiting for. Swift had spoken, again, without actually speaking. An album announcement graced our social media accounts with one word: Reputation.
The media went wild and the internet forgot about everything else in the world. It was then that we realized that this is Taylor Swift’s world and we are all just living in it. Soon after a week of cryptic messages and an album announcement, it was confirmed that Swift is indeed the most powerful, most iconic, and biggest star in the entire world.
It was then that we remember that Swift doesn’t do anything without thinking things through. We know now that Reputation is bound to be far more successful than 1989 ever was. How do we know this? Because Swift herself has said that she won’t release a new album until she knew it was better than anything else she has ever created and could top 1989.
And now… now we have Reputation. Now we have the new single that is about to grace our ears at any moment. The world is talking and waiting to hear what Swift has to say. We are waiting to watch the biggest star in the world to take back what’s hers. We are waiting for her to change the narrative.
Welcome to the Reputation era.
