Game of Thrones season 7: 3 questions ‘Beyond the Wall’ has to answer

Game of Thrones’ “Beyond the Wall” has us thinking about everyone from Sansa Stark all the way down to Cersei Lannister in the south.

“Beyond the Wall,” Game of Thrones fans, is going to get gnarly. The preview actually puts in the phrase “Winter is Here.”

We might just want to pre-emptively put on sweaters before we watch. For maximum safety. That’s not a question, but we do have three of them.

What is Sansa Stark reading?

In one of the photos released for this episode, Sansa Stark looks at some pieces of parchment with Brienne of Tarth standing in the background. Sansa has spent a lot of time with papers in the last few episodes, and these look too large to be raven messages informing her of Jon Snow’s whereabouts, but too small to be maps so that she can follow his progress.

We might not get a really close look at them; Brienne could be interrupting Sansa’s work to deliver a message of sorts. But for now, we want to know what she’s looking at.

How many battle scenes will there be?

Between the preview and the photos, it seems like Jon and the wight-hunting group might have multiple encounters with the army of the Night King. Pay close attention to how much it snows in different scenes where the wights show up.

Right now, we think there’s at least one snowstorm fight scene, but who’s to say that the group won’t have to try a couple times to secure what they came for? It’s certainly likely that there’s more than one.

(And no, an extra-long fight won’t count as more than one.)

Will we see anything of Cersei, Euron, or Jaime?

She’s not present in either the photos or the preview, but she might show up all the same. There’s a lot brewing in King’s Landing, including a baby (well, maybe) for Jaime and Cersei. Is there anything new that could happen in the Red Keep? To repeat ourselves … well, maybe.

Ditto with Euron. Ever since he took Yara with him after dropping Ellaria and Tyene Sand off to Cersei, we’ve seen neither hide nor hair of him personally. Could he come back with a villainous vengeance this episode?

See, there’s another reason for sweaters. Euron leaves us with shivers down our spine every time he shows up.
