There’s an important gap in HP and Sorcerer’s Stone and it’s bothering us

There’s a big gap in Sorcerer’s Stone just discovered, and it’s plaguing us.
According to Digital Spy, there’s a glaring hole in the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. And it’s a pretty big hole too. About 24 hours. According to the article, the time between Hagrid picking up baby Harry at Surrey and dropping him off at Little Winging is way too long.
What we know

We know Hagrid was late dropping Harry off. Dumbledore picks up his wallet and says so. But it couldn’t be that Hagrid just picked up baby Harry. McGonagall must have known some aspect of the plan because she’d been watching the Dursleys since that morning, knowing that something happened to possibly kill Voldemort and that Harry needs protection in case the Death Eaters come back.
Also, remember that Mr. Dursley hears Wizards talking at lunchtime. So it’s November 1st, at night, so it’s been a whole day since Harry’s parents were killed. Hagrid says he got Harry “outta that wreckage” meaning the Godric’s Hollow house, since it was a mixed village.
Where things get sticky
So Hagrid got Harry on October 31st, and didn’t get to Little Winging until November 1st. I tried to Google Map it, but then I remembered these places don’t actually exist. Oops. So I used Surrey and Suffolk, which takes 2 and a half hours. So…where was Hagrid?

There’s also questions of why Dumbledore was in charge when he had no relation (but he’s Dumbledore, so I’ll let that one go). Why he entrusted it to someone who can’t use Magic (becuase he’s Hagrid! Come on!) And who felt it was okay to leave a baby on a doorstep. (This has actually plagued me for years. HOW??)
So…they’re right. Where were Harry and Hagrid? Did Hagrid decide to give Harry a day at a theme park? Did they go to Hogsmeade? Did Hagrid hopelessly lost but want to sound like he had it all together for Dumbledore?
