As the 4th of July holiday approaches, Taylor Swift’s fans are reminded of the singer’s 2016 festivities, which took place at a rental home in Malibu, California.
As fans will recall, Swift was dating actor Tom Hiddleston at the time and as they celebrated the holiday on the beach, he turned up in an “I Love T.S.” T-shirt, which quickly generated tons of buzz online from people who mocked the actor’s attire.
While Swift’s romance with Hiddleston didn’t last very far after the party, she is now dating Joe Alwyn and fans are wondering if he would be so cheesy as to copy the idea. Luckily for Swift, however, Alwyn is reportedly doing his best to protect his romance with the singer and not open to any such antics.
“Joe has been joking with Taylor that there is no way he is going to be caught wearing an ‘I Heart T.S.’ shirt this Fourth of July,” a source told Hollywood Life on July 3. “Joe’s feelings for Taylor are deep and real, but he fears that he may only be known as the guy that followed Tom [Hiddleston].”

“The truth is, it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back,” he told the March 2017 issue of GQ. “And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, ‘Does anyone have a T-shirt?’ And one of her friends said, ‘I’ve got this’ … And we all laughed about it. It was a joke.”
Joe Alwyn is protecting his romance
“The last thing Joe wants is to make any of the same blunders her ex, Tom, did,” the Hollywood Life source continued. “Joe feels like what he has with Taylor is sincere and different, so he wants to make sure that is clear to the world. He looks forward to spending the holiday with her and meeting many of her friends — just no silly shirts.”
