Daring thrill seekers, The Joker Free Fly Coaster brings its maniacal theme to roller coasters. Six Flags Great America expands its extreme coaster offerings with this new ride.

Fans of DC Entertainment know the Joker and Batman are archenemies. At Six Flags Great America, the battling pair battle for biggest roller coaster thrill. The new The Joker Free Fly Coaster sits in view of Batman, the ride. Which is the bigger thrill, good or evil?

Adding to the park’s long list of thrill rides, Six Flags Great America debuted The Joker  to legions of coaster and comic fans. The newest thrill ride joins popular coasters like Goliath, Raging Bull and the iconic Screaming Eagle. Unlike the established coasters, The Joker offers an innovative experience.

The unique design of The Joker comes from the 4-D wing vehicles. The coaster has no track above or below the vehicle. Riders experience a full view of both the sky and ground, if they dare to look. With each twist and turn, the riders experience a chaotic ride reminiscent of the Joker’s personality.

According to Six Flags Great America Park President, Hank Salemi:

"“The Joker Free Fly Coaster is one of the most unique coasters ever built in Six Flags Great America’s 42 year history. The sensation of weightlessness as you flip 360 degrees from this innovative magnetic technology is truly incredible.”"

The new coaster debuted this past weekend at Six Flags Great America. The reviews on the new addition were positive. The head over heels experience made riders come back for more.

Unlike traditional coasters, this design offers face-off seats. For many riders, a huge fun factor was watching other riders twist, turn and tumble down the track. With no pre-programmed twisting, the tumbling can change on each ride. The Joker experience may never be the same twice.

Some riders reported that the different color tracks appeared to have different speeds. While there is no inherent differences in the tracks, the riders’ location could impact the speed impression. Additionally, the free-tumble could be affected by fellow riders’ weight. More tumbles could make riders feel as if they are going faster.

The Joker Free Fly Coaster is open to the public during normal Six Flags Great America business hours. Additionally, the park opened a Villains gift shop, which offers DC items. A DC Heroes shop is also available.
