Bob’s Burgers is Leaving Netflix and That’s One More Thing Wrong with the World

To serve as your daily reminder that we can’t have nice things, Bob’s Burgers is officially leaving Netflix next month on May 7.

Bob’s Burgers is adult animated comedy at its finest. Instead of making sex jokes and relying on cheap tricks like a talking baby or aliens, Bob’s Burgers focuses entirely on a blue-collar family in the middle of New Jersey and their restaurant joint. My fondness from the show stems from patriarch Bob’s unfailing support of his children, even when they’re at their weirdest, and teenage daughter Tina’s acceptance of her strangest, most sensual self.

Of course, Bob’s Burgers is currently in its seventh season on Fox. But going back to watch early seasons on a whim lends a particular sense of comfort to my daily routine.

And now, Netflix wants to take that all away.

According to our sister site, Netflix Life, Bob’s Burgers is just one of several shows and movies leaving. Yeah, it’s all about expired licenses and making room for more content, especially as Netflix looks to expand its original content, but Linda Belcher deserves better.
