Have Some “Jessica Jones” Season 2 Spoilers Via Casting Calls

Jessica Jones’ second season has started production, and casting calls may have just spoiled a lot of supporting characters.

Our favorite sarcastic superhero just started filming her second season. That’s right, Marvel’s Jessica Jones is in production and we can’t wait to see where season two will take us.

One of the fun things this lovely Internet has done for us is have crazy fans try to figure out supporting characters through casting calls. Of course, Marvel Television puts casting calls under fake character names. But much like “what state do the Simpsons live in,” if you look at all the clues, you can figure it out.

Thankfully, you don’t have to!

MCU Exchange has their hands on the casting calls and some fun ideas as to who might be who. Here are the characters so far:

"[DR. KIRBY]60s, male, open ethnicity, scientist & freethinker SERIES REGULAR – ONE YEAR DEAL[PRESLEY]Late 30s, Male, African American, intelligent, driven, self-assured FRACTIONAL SERIES REGULAR[OLIVER]34-38, male, Latino, artistic, paternal, smart, scruffy and hip SERIES REGULAR[INGRID]Early-mid 30s, 5’8 – 5’11, female, dark hair, attractive and edgy, has a history of living on the streets. Educated as a nurse, but street-wise. She is attracted to men and women…SERIES REGULAR"

A one-year deal for Dr. Kirby, eh? That must mean he’s a villain. And MCU Exchange has a great idea from the comics: Doctor Karl Malus.

Malus is a mad scientist (obviously) who actually founds the Institute for Supranormality Research, which, if you’ve been watching Agents of SHIELD, sounds kind of like what Fitz is doing to the Inhumans in the Framework. He creates toxins that he sells to criminals. He’s very much a free thinker.

(There’s also a comic storyline where Carnage is implanted into his body, but that’s another story.)

And Jessica Jones still needs to figure out who’s behind IGH — you know, that organization that turned Will Simpson’s character crazy with the drugs they gave him. Malus fits pretty well, especially since his comic book counterpart dabbles in toxins and drugs to enhance abilities.

Their other guesses are Paul Denning/Paladin for Presley, who tries to track down the Purple Man and ends up fighting Daredevil; Otis Johnson for Oliver, who has ties to both Colleen Wing (from Iron Fist) and Misty Knight (from Luke Cage) and would fit in nicely; and Ian Soo for Ingrid, who has ties to Patsy Walker, aka Jessica’s best friend.
