Following the dominance of Disney’s live action Beauty and Beast, the question everyone’s asking is: what’s next? In their appearance at CinemaCon, the studio gave fans an answer.
The next two years at the box office will likely see some familiar faces after this year’s CinemaCon reveals. During their appearance in Las Vegas, Walt Disney Studios released their movie slate through 2019, and it’s led by superheroes, sequels and live action remakes.
The most highly anticipated – and arguably the biggest hitters – on the list are Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi and Avengers: Infinity War, both set to release in 2017. The Star Wars franchise will also release its Han Solo standalone film in 2017. After that, it’s the waiting game for Star Wars fans.

Through the beginning of 2019, Marvel has six films slated to release. Before Infinity War hits screens, Marvel will set up the story with Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok. Along with fan favorites, the MCU is expanding a bit with Black Panther, Antman & The Wasp and Captain Marvel.
Spider-Man is joining the MCU in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but the film is a joint project between Marvel and Sony.
Though Marvel lays claim to most of the supers on the slate, Disney/PIXAR is finally – seriously, it’s been 13 years – releasing Incredibles 2. Details of the plot are still under wraps.
Sequels

The Incredibles 2 isn’t the only story getting the sequel treatment. Disney Animation has officially announced Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck It Ralph 2. Due out on March 9, 2018, the movie takes the original characters and unleashes them into the entire Internet world.
The fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise hits theaters this May, bringing back characters from the first film. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is promised to be “the final adventure” in the series. Dead Men will be followed by the final sequel on the list, Cars 3.
Live Actions

The updated CinemaCon slate reveals Disney’s live action Mulan and Mary Poppins Returns will both release in 2018. Ava DuVernay’s adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time is also set to release on April 6, 2018.
The big mystery now lies in the untitled films on the list. With Summer 2017 fast approaching, more and more questions are circling the “Untitled Fairy Tale.” Given Disney’s usual marketing build-up, it’s a bit odd that no details have surfaced.
Disney has already confirmed a hefty list of live action remakes in the works, including The Lion King and Aladdin. One potential candidate for Disney’s 2018 “Untitled Live Action” slot is Cruella. The film will tell the story of 101 Dalmatians‘ Cruella de Vil, played by Emma Stone. Rumors from IMDb suggest that the film is already locked into a 2018 release.
It’s also possible that it could refer to Disney’s live action original film about Prince Charming. Written by Matt Fogel, the story is said to be “a revisionist take on the fairy tales.”
