The new Pirates of the Caribbean movie might mean a family reunion. Walt Disney Studios has apparently confirmed that Henry is Will Turner’s son.
Walt Disney Studios has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette on the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, giving a closer look at all the action coming to theaters this May.
It also seems to confirm one key piece of information: Henry is actually Henry Turner, the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.

Unlike his pirate father, Henry is a sailor in the Royal Navy. But by the looks of things, he might find he’s pretty similar to Will. In Dead Men, Henry is roped into Captain Jack Sparrow’s plans to track down Poseidon’s Trident, with the help of a beautiful young girl named Carina Smyth.
Orlando Bloom is set to reprise his role as Will Turner in this fifth installment, though his role in the plot hasn’t been released.
Dead Men presumably won’t be the first meeting between Will and his son. When last we saw Henry, he was 10 years old, ready to meet his father for the first time. As he walks to the cliff’s edge, Henry can be heard singing “A Pirate’s Life For Me” – perhaps hinting at what’s to come in the new installment. Don’t remember that scene? That’s because it came after the credits.

What does this mean for Dead Men‘s timeline? When Will Turner became captain of the Flying Dutchman, the one catch was that he can only step on land for a single day every 10 years. But, the two could reunite on the seas in Dead Men. The rumored storyline, according to Pirates of the Caribbean fan pages, cites that Henry decides to find his father and free him from his curse as captain of the Flying Dutchman. Disney has not released official word on this matter.
