Chris Craziness: March Madness Round of 64 — Christopher Lee vs. Chris Colfer
It’s Dracula (or Saruman if you prefer) against Glee’s Kurt for the beginning matchup in this division. Who will win in this round of Chris Craziness?
There’s much to be said for enjoying the big dance with all its many names, though most refer to it as March Madness. Now, if you head on over to Culturess’ sports section, you’ll see we have our eyes on the NCAA tournament, too. But why not, in the spirit of tournaments and brackets everywhere, not host our own tournament?
Why not, indeed. Call it our own little Cinderella story, and enter Chris Craziness, where we will pit 64 Chrises against each other and put it to you for a vote for who advances.

Christopher Lee (Actor, The Lord of the Rings … lots of other stuff)
Generally speaking, we here at Culturess decided to keep it to living Chrises, but we made one exception for the Christopher who literally played Dracula. (No, seriously. He’s been Dracula, too.) After all, the count is basically the best-known member of the undead in the world, and that’s enough for us to make an exception for Sir Christopher Lee, who died in 2015.
Not only does he have credits in nearly 300 works— including ones still in production, thanks to his lending his voice only — he also sang on metal albums. No, really. And they’re about Charlemagne, because Christopher Lee was related to Charlemagne.
Also, he knew, as you can see in the last link, what sound a man made when stabbed in the back, and informed Peter Jackson on the set of Return of the King that the direction he was being given was wrong.

Chris Colfer (Actor, Glee / Author)
Although Chris Colfer’s career may be less long and illustrious than Christopher Lee’s, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t done some important work of his own. Colfer’s definitely best known for his role on Kurt on Glee, where he put his singing chops to work. He also got to have an on-screen romance with Darren Criss, which, you know, is worth mentioning because it’s Darren Criss but also because of its importance in the realm of representation in media.
However, he’s really moved to writing. He’s working on a series called The Land of Stories. (In fact, the series made him a New York Times best-seller, as mentioned on the below author page.) He just released a new book, Stranger than Fanfiction, late last month. He has a full-blown author page on Amazon!
Also, he’s quite politically active, wearing a T-shirt showing “Mt. Nasty” as late as March 1. (It’s a good T-shirt, and we want to know where to get it.)
