Doctor Who Season 10: Episode Title Spoilers Revealed?

An eagle eyed fan noticed an odd shot in the latest Doctor Who Season 10 trailer–could the episode titles be hiding in plain sight?

Over the weekend, the newest trailer for Doctor Who Season 10 was released, during the finale of Let It Shine. The trailer itself mostly focused on the new companion Bill, and her impressions of the 12th Doctor.

But interspersed between her observations were tons of flashes that hint at the adventures to come. Included in the flashes are a wall of ghost faces which are “ghosts of the future” including Ice Warriors, Daleks and Cybermen, all of whom we know they will be facing in the upcoming season. But are the episode titles also included?

Watch closely.

A close up of the book spines in the library that our heroes are marching through reveal some very interesting titles if you blow up the shot over Bill’s shoulder–and considering that they’re not visible without the close up, one wonders why they would bother. Unless they’re an easter egg?

Going from bottom to top, matching what we know already about this season:

  • Episode 1: Moffat has already stated that he felt like the season was a brand new show, so the first episode would be a “Pilot” episode, as it were.
  • Episode 2: The only hint we have is that it includes “killer robots that have emoji faces”…like a Smile?
  • Episode 3: Penned by Sarah Dollard, this episode is hinted to include a frozen River Thames. “Thin Ice” would be a very sensible title.
  • Episode 4: Written by Mike Bartlett (of Doctor Foster fame) is the one that guest stars David Suchet (yes Poirot!) as “The Landlord” and is supposedly about why old houses squeak. We can’t see the full title, but “Knock…” might make a lot of sense.
  • Episode 5: Written by Jamie Mathieson, we only know it’s a “black satire.” Therefore we have no plausible reason to think “Oxygen” isn’t the title.
