Supergirl Casts Rahul Kohli as Another Possible Villain and Lena’s Love Interest

As Supergirl devolves into just another CW show, Rahul Kohli has been cast as Jack Spheer, a possible villain and love interest for Lena Luthor.

Let me just jump right into it: Lena Luthor doesn’t need a love interest, especially not a villain. Because as one of the more interesting characters on Supergirl, her intrigue lies in the fact that she fills Kara’s office with flowers and wants to break free from her family’s dark past. While I’ll be one of the first to say I want to know more about her, this is not the way to go about it.

But as Entertainment Weekly revealed, iZombie‘s Rahul Kohli has joined the cast as Jack Spheer. Spheer, a tech genius known in the comics as the villain Biomax, visits National City to share his new development on a “medical innovation that will eradicate major illnesses and change the face of the world.”

(I’m so sorry, Winn, that another tech genius has arrived to overshadow you.)

(I’m so sorry, Lena, that they’re giving a plot line that could easily fit your character development to a dude.)

Of course, I believe Rahul Kohli will make the best of his time on Supergirl. More importantly, I won’t be surprised if he proves to be a pretty cool guy. It’s not his fault that The CW doesn’t know what to do with this show and all their writers mysteriously forgot how to write strong female leads.

In April, the third season of iZombie premieres on The CW, which will see Kohli on two shows instead of one. His character of Jack Spheer won’t appear on Supergirl until episode 18. For anyone trying to keep track, that’s three weeks after Monday’s upcoming episode, “Exodus.”

Furthermore, episode 18 entitled “Ace Reporter” will focus on journalism as Spheer’s arrival makes “front page news.” Breaking: He will also ignite “feelings in his old flame Lena Luthor.”

How Lena responds remains to be seen. But I can’t wait to see Kara Danvers use journalism as an excuse to embarrass Spheer in front of Lena as many times as possible.
