Legion Season One Episode Four Recap: Chapter Four
The best new show of the season was on tonight and Legion definitely didn’t disappoint with its fourth episode of its very first season.
Legion has proven itself time and time again these last few weeks. It is amazing and so great to watch and each new episode makes us love it a little bit more. This week, it was a little confusing but still great.
Basically David is lost in a separate plane and he is trying to find his way back to Amy and Syd.
Jermaine Clements
The episode opened up with Jermaine Clements of Flight of the Concords fame. It began with him explaining the stories we tell our children. And it truly set the tone for the entire episode, just a storybook feel to the story of David Haller.
It was great to see Jermaine in the episode, and even in this role, his comedic abilities made it that much more enjoyable.
Storytime
From the opening, the entire episode just had a feel of a story. Syd talks about how she needed to find answers in a monologue. From there, the show just felt like a story someone was telling us. And even had little moments of stories we know and love.
"“Alice fell down the rabbit hole and Dorothy escaped to Oz.”"
Bras Are Back
In David’s plane that he has somehow locked himself in, he finds Oliver Bird. The husband to Melanie, Oliver has somehow barricaded himself in this plane and they placed his body in a cold room to keep him.
He has clearly been there for a while because he asks David if “free love” and no bras are still a thing. But the two just have a nice scene in a very strange episode.
Dr. Poole
They think they’re heading to see David’s old doctor. Too bad for them, they discover that he is, in fact, the Eye. So there is a battle of mutants of sorts and it ends with Syd touching the Eye and trading places with him.
Kerry/Cary
So in the end, Kerry (the female counterpart of Cary) runs to try and save David and Syd from the Eye once David escapes from the plane. And the episode leaves us with Kerry getting shot and us not knowing what is going to happen to her or Cary.
In Conclusion
The episode made a lot of headway in explaining why David’s memories can be screwy. We don’t know what is going on in his mind but we’re slowly learning.
