The New Books Roundup, February 28: Green Riders and Sith Lords

facebooktwitterreddit

To help close out the month of February, we have a set of new books, including the next installment of a fantasy series as well as a little modern romance.

Tomorrow will bring the month of March. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any new books to end the month of February, and we’ve combed through the pile to pull out some titles of interest as per usual.

Amazon’s the source of our title links, and we’ll give you a slightly sillier version of the summaries and descriptions from there.

Firebrand

Those looking for a new fantasy series to enjoy shouldn’t look further than Kristen Britain’s Green Rider series. This is actually the sixth book featuring once-reluctant Green Rider Karigan G’ladheon, King Zachary (with whom she shares some secret feelings), and all the rest. Second Empire continues to threaten the kingdom of Sacoridia, and once again, Karigan is on the front lines of trying to track down their leader, Grandmother. Naturally, we expect plenty of magic and mysterious happenings. Here it is on Goodreads. DAW; hardcover, 816 pages; list price: $29.00.

Perfect for You

Candis Terry has continued her Sunshine Creek Vineyard series with Perfect for You, starring another of the Kincade brothers. Our hero this time is Declan, who not only goes by Dec but also happens to work alongside one Brooke Hastings, who just so happens to also be attractive (not that he’s noticed until now, but hey, he gets partial credit, right?). Of course, the course of workplace romances never did run smooth, but just going off the title, it sounds like we’ll get our happily ever afterGoodreads already has its entry, and that “want to read” button looks pretty tempting, doesn’t it? Avon; mass market paperback, 368 pages; list price: $7.99.

Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 2

For those looking to help fill the time between the inevitable Rogue One rewatch and the release of The Last Jedi later this year, it seems wise to turn to the world of comics for more Star Wars. What better place to start than with the one and only Darth Vader? This hardcover collects issues 13-25 of the Darth Vader comic along with Vader Down #1Star Wars (2015) #13-14, and the first annual issue of Darth Vader, according to Marvel’s listing, which also promises a “the first crossover of the new Marvel age of Star Wars!” All of that’s relevant to our interests. Check it out on Goodreads here. Marvel; hardcover, 440 pages; list price: $39.99.

Also out today are the newest book from Chris Colfer, Stranger than Fanfiction, as well as the art book for the new game Horizon: Zero Dawn.
