‘Shipping Riverdale: Get These Couples Together Immediately
By Sundi Rose
I’m shipping Riverdale all over the place. Who could blame me? They’re planting a lot of romantic seeds, and I’m here to offer my full support.
I’ve been ‘shipping Riverdale since that very first episode. I’ve caught whiffs of some love stories, here and there, so I’m here to make my case for these couples. I need Riverdale to stop messing around and ignite these fires right now.
Jughead and Betty
Here me out. I know everybody is falling all over the hunky redhead, but he’s not the only guy in town, people. Jughead is definitely a little broody for my taste, but I sensed a moment between him and Betty.
He looked very dapper in his suit, which is far more than Archie could muster. Who wears a letterman’s jacket to a funeral? Betty thought so too, and she gave him a symbolic wink when he turned up looking very cute.
They’ve also been working closely, playing at being investigative journalists. The more time they spend with their heads pressed together conspiratorially, the more they’re gonna realize they love each other.
Archie and Veronica
Archie is a little boring, I’ll admit. Even all this football captain/aspiring musician isn’t going far enough to keep me interested. However, he would become far more dymanic if he decides to do the obvious thing and be with Veronica. She’s the absolute best part of this show, and just her sheer nearness would go a long way to make Archie more appealing.
Besides, they’re super cute together. She brings out a personality I wasn’t sure he had, and it seems like he can make her blush a little. He even calls her “Ronnie” for goodness sake. It’s too much. Just kiss (again) already. But make sure Betty won’t be mad, because I couldn’t stomach it if Riverdale turned into that show.
Archie and Val
But then there’s this sexy singer/songwriter clouding my feelings about Archie and Veronica. Val and Archie have their music in common, and I get their whole artist vibe – its sexy in its own rite. I like this girl for Archie because she has depth and she seems to be like a mentor for him.
She’s also smoking hot. I mean, I can barely look at her without bursting into flames. Archies a total hottie himself, so the two of them together is almost too much.
Fred and Hermione
I only want good things for
Luke Perry
Fred Andrews. I will always root for him to succeed in love, life and work. If I’m being totally honest, I actually ‘ship Fred with myself, but it’s problematic because I’m a real person and he’s a fictional character.
If it can’t be me, then it should totally be Hermione. She’s beautiful, vulnerable, and they have a history. He’s all rugged and manly, and she’s all beauty and glamor. I love them together, and I don’t even care about their respective, absent spouses.
Cheryl and Reg
I know everybody hates Cheryl, but I’m attracted to broken things, and I just think she needs a little kindness. Veronica thinks so too which is probably why she agreed to that awful dinner party with the Nana with the milky eye.
Reg is turning out to be a good guy. He offers to help Archie when he’s hurt, and he just seems like a regular dude. His vanilla would be just the thing to offset Cheryl’s gothic horror story-vibe.
What man could resist a woman who lies around in a satin negligee and heels for a slumber party?
