The 100 Season 4 Episode 3 “The Four Horsemen” Shocking Moments
The third episode of The 100 season 4, “The Four Horsemen,” left us with our jaws dropped and is clearly gearing us up for a crazy season.
Season 3 of The 100 didn’t feel like the same show as it did in season 1 and 2. The story lines between Arkadia and Polis were disconnected and choppy and the show was following too many characters for me to get fully involved in. So when we first went into season 4 with similar stories in both Arkadia and Polis, I was a little nervous about how they were going to pull it off.
But somehow, they did. They’re spending just enough time at each place for me to see an entire plot play out, and it feels as though I’m watching the show form season 1 and 2 again. Less side stories and more people working towards one common goal, and this latest episode solidified that for me. While also dropping some serious bombs on us that nobody expected. So let’s begin with my shocking moments:
Squad goals.
I love all the little alliances that are happening between clans this season. We’ve obviously seen this before throughout the first 3 seasons and it’s clear that our people (Skaikru) would’ve never survived without the alliances they made along the way. In season 1, it was Lincoln who helped them prepare for the grounder attack. In season 2, Octavia made nice with Indra and Nyko. We also had Maya’s help to try and escape Mount Weather. RIP Maya. Then in season 3, the relationship between Clarke and Lexa was obviously pretty handy. A friendship grew between Clarke and Roan as well. These are just the ones off the top of my head. It’s been made very clear in this show that when two people work together from opposite sides, the chances of survival get a little higher. This brings me to season 4.
I can already see alliances forming that without a doubt will shape how they survive. Roan and Octavia are proving this right off the bat. He trusts her with the knowledge that someone took the flame. Now Octavia has a trust with Gaia, the new flame keeper. I can’t imagine that wouldn’t be convenient. Or when Luna and Nyko showed up at Arkadia to be treated. And even when Bellamy and the others saved the slaves. Yeah, that may have pissed off Ice Nation but I’m sure it’ll prove to some other clans that Skaikru is loyal and wants the best for people, even Echo and Bellamy. They have this odd history that shouldn’t be wasted moving forward.
Clarke and Bellamy: New Power Couple?
Whether the relationship between Clarke and Bellamy becomes romantic this season or not, there’s no doubt that these two make a dynamic duo in terms of leadership. It used to be that Bellamy was the head and Clarke was the heart, meaning they complemented one another perfectly when making a decision. This season is a little different as I think their roles are reversing a bit. Clarke is trying to be more realistic about this problem, the head. Bellamy, on the other hand, is remaining a little more emotional, the heart. I can’t say I hate it. I like seeing them in these roles and I think it’ll create an interesting dynamic towards the end of the season.
But also, Bellamy thinking Clarke wouldn’t put his name on the list.
Lol j/k you have two months to live instead of six.
Wow, y’all. The radiation is already here. The fish are dying. The insects are dying. People are dying. They better come up with a plan to save everyone before this two month period runs out. So how are they going to do this!? Well, I’ve made a convenient list for you:
- They figure out how to make a ton of night blood and put everyone on dialysis for two months to prepare.
- Skaikru built up a tolerance to radiation from being in space and can live through it.
- Raven fixes the Ark and only 100 people can survive in there.
- They fix the bunker that Jaha found.
- They go back to space.
- There’s a Mount Weather 2.0.
- I literally have no idea…
Honorable Mentions:
- If the fish are already dying from radiation, shouldn’t they be worried about the meat being contaminated? Niylah is great at preserving and all but no amount of salt can cover up that darn taste of radiation.
- Murphy talking about the sheep’s milk drink that Ontari gave him while they were in Polis in front of Emori. Smh, John.
- But also Murphy stealing medicine for Abby when Murphy’s dad got floated on the Ark for stealing medicine. He redeemed himself there.
- Is Bravenlarke becoming everyone’s new favorite OTP or is Bravenlarke becoming everyone’s new favorite OTP?
- Indra is a mommy. Be still my heart. Indra had daughter issues and Octavia had mommy issues and they found each other and all is well in the world.
- Was Indra a flame keeper at some point? Gaia makes it seem that she was and that she left the faith. Is that important at all?
- Can I just get Ilian and Octavia to work together eventually?
- How did Ilian know that the flame was in that skull box? Is that common grounder knowledge?
- Did anyone else sob when Ilian shattered “the flame?” I felt like they were killing Lexa again… for the third time. Not that I’m counting.
- So help me God, Riley’s name better have been on that list.
