Korra and Asami head out on a romantic date in the new Legend of Korra comic book sequel, coming this June from Dark Horse.

When Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra ended in 2014, it surprised some viewers and delighted others by having Korra and her female friend and onetime rival Asami riding out into the sunset, hand in hand. The two were taking a long needed vacation to the Spirit World after all the Avatar action, and an implied romance was developing.

The show continues on in comic form. The first comic, The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars, releases from Dark Horse this summer. There will be three comics altogether to continue the story of Korra and her friends from Republic City.

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive sneak preview of the comic, which shows what Korra and Asami get up to on their post-finale vacation.

It’s not all relaxation for the duo, of course. Korra must deal with the chaos created in both the Spirit World and Republic City.

The Legend of Korra series finale got a lot of press. Critics and fans praised it for ending with the two women in a romantic relationship. The final shot, of Korra and Asami facing each other and holding hands, was seemingly romantic but still somewhat ambiguous. Creators Michae Dane DiMartino and Brian Konietzko quickly confirmed the pairing was romantic, and Korra and Asami were now a couple. The fact that a kids’ cartoon ended with a bisexual hero in a same-sex relationship became ground-breaking. Even if the series only implied their on-screen romance. Luckily, the couple’s burgeoning relationship will be explored more in the comic.

Series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino wrote the comic, with Irene Koh doing the line art and coloring by Jane Bak and Vivian Ng.

The first issue of The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars hits shelves on June 2, 2017. Unfortunately, the following two books don’t have release dates yet.
