Legion Season One Episode Two Recap: Chapter Two
Last week, the premiere of Legion came and all of us were excited. So with this new episode, what did Chapter Two bring us for David Haller?
David began learning about his powers in this episode of Legion. He learned that he wasn’t really sick and Melanie Bird began showing him how to control his gift. So from David’s bad fashion choices to the amazing woman that is Melanie Bird, Legion is giving us everything we want and so much more.
The Telepathic
David Haller has believed himself to be sick for most of his life. But Melanie Bird proved to him that he was not, in fact, a schizophrenic. She starts to track David’s gift through his memories and begins to show him that the voices in his head were never part of a disease.
David’s Father
In the comics, David’s father is very obvious. Honestly, if you google his name, you can find who his father is. But if you don’t want to know, please skip down to the next segment. Okay, so you want to know? David is the son of Charles Xavier. Crazy, right? Well, Charles doesn’t know that he has a son, which explains why he would leave his son alone.
The father we see in the show so far is an astronomer who reads David a terribly horrific children’s book. And that’s pretty much all we see of him in this episode. Whether he’ll be a bigger part later in the series, we don’t know yet.
A Memory Artist
Ptonomy Wallace can take David through all his memories. Honestly, he has one of the coolest powers. Basically, his job is to create a memory landscape of whomever’s memories. In the case with David Haller, it is a little bit harder.
David has things hidden away and Ptonomy has a bit of challenge trying to access them all.
Syd and David
Once again, Syd and David have some amazing moments in this episode. But what sucks is that every time David clearly needs someone to touch him, Syd can’t. At one point David says that he wishes he could hold her, and Syd talks about how even with gloves, it feels as if ants are crawling all over her skin.
But the best part about their relationship is that they’re just there for each other. Right now, it is more that Syd is there for David than anything else but they both clearly care for each other.
Amy Bait
David is in an MRI when he somehow has an out of body experience and sees his sister. He knows she’s in trouble and that he has to save her but it takes Syd expressing the fact that she’s bait for him to agree to stay at Summerland.
Conclusion
Another great episode of Legion and it really started to show us more of what the show is going to be like. Now, we just want to see some cool abilities that David has!
