Do you want to keep track of who wins what while watching this year’s Grammys ceremony? We have a printable ballot so you can mark the results.
Like the Oscars, the Grammys are an event. Obviously, they’re surrounded by hype. Even sites like this making predictions and publicize each tidbit of news related to the ceremony. They come across as a glitzy affair, preceded by roughly five hours of red carpet coverage with everyone from pop stars to country singers showing off their best fashion. The musical performances range from bombastic to elegiac, like a tonally jumbled concert.
At heart, of course, they’re an awards show, and we watch to find out who takes home a trophy. Which artists will emerge victorious this year?
Naturally, predicting winners for the Grammys can be complicated. Not least because there are so freaking many categories — 83, to be exact. Fortunately for all of us who like awards shows but not that much, we don’t have to see every single winner make an earnest, rambling speech. Although the ceremony lasts about as long as the red carpet, only a handful of categories air live on television. These include the four “general” categories (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist) as well as popular genre categories like Pop Solo Performance and Rap Album.
We expect Beyoncé to dominate the 2017 Grammys. She received nine nominations, including Album of the Year for Lemonade and Record of the Year for the track “Formation”. If she pulls off a sweep, she would become the most awarded female artist in Grammy history (bluegrass singer Alison Krauss currently holds that title with 27 wins).
Squaring off against Beyoncé in Album of the Year are Adele (25), Justin Bieber (Purpose), Drake (Views), and newcomer Sturgill Simpson (A Sailor’s Guide to Earth). The other Record of the Year nominees are Adele (“Hello”), Lukas Graham (“7 Years”), Rihanna (“Work” ft. Drake), and Twenty One Pilots (“Stressed Out”).
You can find the official list of nominees on the Grammys website, and we have a ballot for you to print out here:
