The 2017 Grammy Awards were promising to be big this year. With Adele and Beyonce going up against each other, it was always going to be amazing.

The Grammy Awards are always a fun time. From the amazing outfits to great performances, there is always something to talk about the next day. So we’re looking at the biggest moments from this year’s ceremony.

From crazy performances from Beyonce to sweet stories with winners, here are the biggest moments of the night!

Adele

The night started off with quite a performance. For those who are torn between who to root for, Adele didn’t make it any easier. She had a simple performance. Just Adele looking absolutely incredible singing “Hello” against a black background. And honestly, I could have watched and entire night of just that.

James Corden

Did anyone question whether or not he’d be a good host? If the Tonys were any indication, we knew that he’d do a great job. And he definitely did! James has an energy about him that makes you want to watch everything he is doing.

From bringing in his famous Carpool Karaoke to the Grammys to constantly making jokes and bringing like to the event, James just did an incredible job.

Twenty One Pilots with No Pants

When Twenty One Pilots started to take off their pants as soon as they won, people got confused. But as the two members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun took the stage, they explained how this pants less acceptance came to be.

When they were watching the Grammys together years ago, the two were sitting in their underwear. They said that if they ever won a Grammy, they would accept the award just as they were in that moment. And so they did.

Shape of You

If you’ve never seen Ed Sheeran in concert, you may have not gotten to experience his amazing one man performance of his songs before. But the Grammys fixed that for us all. With his guitar and board, Ed Sheeran proved to us why he was an amazing performance.

“Shape of You” is definitely his more popular of the two songs released from his 8 month absence and for good reason. The song is amazing. And this performance was just great.

Blue Ivy Came as Prince

Really. There is nothing cooler than this little girl. And this year, she came dressed like the artist formerly known as Prince. That’s it. There isn’t anything more to this. Just that Blue Ivy is cooler than most of us will ever be and she’s only five years old.

David Bowie Winning

Worried that David Bowie might be gone? No worries, the Grammys made sure to remind us that even in his death, he is still one of the greatest out there. His song “Blackstar” won Best Rock Song of the Year at the Grammys.

And really, as it should. The entire album is incredible but “Blackstar,” the title song, is definitely one of the best.

Beyoncé

You have to experience this. There is no way to describe what Beyoncé did. The amount of symbolism in the performance just proved to the world that she went from being Queen Bey to our Mother Earth.

Beyoncé is definitely one of the best we have and this showed us that we are in the presence of greatness with her.

Bruno Mars

As always, Bruno delivered. He was fun, he danced his way through the song, and even made little jokes about dresses. What’s not to love? And Bruno is just fun. That’s one thing you can always count on when it comes to him.

It isn’t about making sure everything is perfect, he just goes on stage and seems to be having the time of his life. And honestly, it is just fun to watch too.

Katy Perry

Never did anyone think that Katy Perry would have a message for us all and yet here we are. With an armband that said persist and finishing her performance by standing in front of the Constitution.

The song was okay, it wasn’t anything special but her message was loud and clear.

Maren Morris and Alicia Keys

There are some performances that are just breathtaking and this is definitely one of those. These two, who’s voices you wouldn’t think would blend, worked so beautifully together. And the song is incredible as well.

But the performance was really nothing but these two ladies just singing their hearts out. And sometimes, that’s all a performance needs to make it iconic.

George Michael Tribute

Last year, Adele famously messed up her performance. This year, she refused to make the same mistake. George Michael deserved the best and that is what Adele wanted to give him. So she stopped her performance and started again.

And it was absolutely gorgeous. Singing a cover of “Fast Love”, Adele made us fall in love with George and his music in a whole new way and proved why she is one of the best we have.

Laverne Cox Doesn’t Announce Metallica

Well this whole performance was a mess and maybe because Laverne Cox didn’t even announce Metallica. From there, you then couldn’t hear Metallica and it became a show of Lady Gaga singing half of a Metallica song.

Honestly, I had hoped Metallica was about to sing a Lady Gaga song. That would have been more enjoyable.

Adele Beat Beyonce

The debate between who is the better artist is idiotic. They’re both clearly amazing but it was still a big deal that “Hello” beat “Formation.” Both songs are incredible for their own ways and the win does nothing to say one is better than the other.

But it was pretty terrible with the Grammys played off Adele and Greg Kurstin before they had finished their speech.

President Agent Orange

A Tribe Called Quest showed us that we are strong and we can’t let this political upset in our country define us. It helps that Busta Rhymes gave us a name for our president by calling him “President Agent Orange”.

Honestly, this whole performance just showed us why A Tribe Called Quest is still amazing.

Prince

The artist formerly known as Prince is a hard one to tackle. There is no performer out there like him. But we have to try and Bruno Mars was a great choice. Having TheTime come to perform their famous song from the film Purple Rain before Bruno tackled “Let’s Get Crazy” was fantastic.

The only thing missing in my opinion? The song “Purple Rain,” but that wasn’t about the high energy and joy Prince gave to the world.

Chance the Rapper

Want to see a once in a lifetime performer? Look no further than Chance the Rapper. This performance, much like Beyonce’s, was just something you have to experience. It was so incredible.

God Only Knows

John Legend and Cynthia Ervio can sing anything and we’d all listen. And when it comes to two giving a tribute to those who have passed, there is no one better to sing. Taking on the Beach Boys, the two just did a phenomenal job.

25 Sweeps

Adele took home Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year. But each time, she praised Beyoncé. The love affair of the two was definitely one of the best moments of the night. The two seem to truly love each other and that is something we very rarely see at these award shows.
