This week’s “Agents of SHIELD” brings in a familiar face, and a brand new Inhuman enters the fray. We’ve got you covered for your recap right here!

Agents of SHIELD carries lots of explosions this week. Both literal and emotional.

Let’s not delay any longer!

Not-So-Short Summary

In Spain, Coulson and Mack hunt for a mystery woman, who looks exactly like Aida (also known as Agnes Kitsworth). They corner her and show her a picture of Aida. I don’t think she’s very happy about it, especially with her angry outburst regarding Radcliffe himself and their “work.”

Coulson wants to bring Agnes in by force despite her brain tumor that’s killing her, but Mack backs out. I kind of agree with Mack — she said she can’t help, let’s not be reckless and leave her in peace.

Instead of using brute force, however, Coulson does what he does best: give a heartfelt speech to someone he needs to rally onto his side. Clark Gregg does some tremendous work when we get to see the emotional struggles of Phil Coulson.

And it works! Agnes sends a secret, encrypted message to Radcliffe. More on that in a bit …

On the Radcliffe front, Aida’s created a world for real!May to battle. The Leader Superior has also glanced at the Darkhold and knows his solution for the Inhuman problem lies in Radcliffe.

Because of course Radcliffe has pure Terrigen crystals at his disposal thanks to his work with Hive, and that’s part of the master plan. They use it on Senator Nadeer, except it’s not her that has the Inhuman blood, but long-haired henchman.

While she doesn’t have Inhuman blood, that didn’t stop them from planting a bomb and killing Nadeer. Or so it seems!

It takes SHIELD too long to realize that long-haired henchman (also known as Shockley) is the bomb and his asking for Mace while in custody is just a ploy to take out Daisy and Mace simultaneously.

They shove him into the containment module and eject the thing from the base. The CGI walking skeleton is pretty darn creepy after he comes to on land, but Shockley does get his Hulk moment of coming to in a foreign terrain completely naked.

SHIELD rebuttals against Shockley’s random explosions to get their attention, and while they get Shockley in a weird bomb-shaped chamber, the Russians get Mace.

Back on the Agnes/Radcliffe-front, Radcliffe does indeed meet up with her after some smoke and mirrors with cell phones. He starts telling her that he’s built something called the Framework, where death is obsolete, and currently he has a subject thriving in it.

Agnes listens to him, throws away the com piece, and leaves SHIELD — but mostly Coulson — reeling in the dust. That hurts. But it doesn’t deter Coulson, because he knows that mention of the test subject is none other than Melinda May.

She’s still alive.

Post-Credits Stinger

In the Framework, Agnes starts her new life. But in the real world, Aida gives Radcliffe the bad news that they can’t sustain her body. And then she just kind of … dies.

But Melinda May looks to be fighting the Framework.

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “BOOM” – Daisy, Mace and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team must find a way to contain an explosive Inhuman. Meanwhile, Coulson and Mack come face-to-face with Radcliffe’s inspiration for Aida, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network. Badass Moment of the Week

Daisy shooting her quakes into Shockley’s face and knocking out the dude behind him.

Best One-Liner

“But you’ll never be Captain America,” Simmons tells Mace, which is only funny because he does take up the mantle of Captain America in the comics.

I don’t think it was a good idea to show Aida a picture of Agnes. I don’t think that’s going to go well, even with Agnes dead. The way Aida took that necklace off Agnes in the post-credits stinger looks horribly menacing. This universe will never learn with killer robots, will it?

Also, kudos to Agents of SHIELD for letting Mallory Jansen get to speak in her normal, Australian accent!

Next week’s Agents of SHIELD looks crazy, per normal. We’re getting into the Russian’s plans that involve the Superior and getting Agent Coulson. Plus, Mace getting tortured by Russians?!
