It’s Almost Time to Bid a Fond Farewell to the Women of HBO’s Girls

We sat back and watched as the girls of  HBO’s Girls struggled, fought, learned, loved, and grew into women. Now, their journey with us is coming to a close as Season 6 is set to air this month.

The magic of HBO Original Series Girls is not lost, even on the most world-weary. Though show creator Lena Dunham has had her ups and downs in the media flow cycle, she has produced content that’s relatable to all young women struggling to find a voice. And now, the ladies are flying the nest as we get ready for this month’s premiere of the sixth and final season of Girls.

Since the show premiered on April 15, 2012, we watched as Hannah (Dunham), Marnie (Allison Williams), Shoshanna (Zosia Mamot), and Jessa (Jemima Kirke) went through countless struggles, hurt feelings, and tests of friendship. In the end, we hope they’ll all emerge standing on their own two feet.

Where Am I?

Season 5 marked an explosive few storylines, including Marnie’s divorce, Jessa and Adam’s “will-they-or-won’t-they” relationship, Shoshanna’s job loss, and Hannah’s inner writer coming back. These four friends have stayed together through the worst, but may slowly be drifting apart as life pulls them in different directions.

In Season 6 Episode 1’s “All I Ever Wanted”, per HBO’s press release detailing February’s episodes, Hannah is enjoying the fruits of her labors as a writer. She gets an assignment in the Hamptons, where she meets a dashing waterski instructor (Riz Ahmed). Since she’s single and ready to mingle, this could get interesting. Meanwhile, Marnie and Ray’s relationship starts to develop, as Jessa and Adam’s seemingly breaks down.

We’re sure to experience more crisp, clean writing as these four young women continue to find themselves.

All our favorite characters will be back in their same roles. We’ll also run into a few new guest stars along the way per HBO, including Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine Nine) and comedienne Tracey Ullman.
