In this delightful deleted scene from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Goldstein sisters show off their pipes as they sing the Ilvermorny School Song!
It’s an adorable little sequence that didn’t quite make the final cut of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This new deleted scene is two minutes of pure heaven as the Goldstein sisters sing out the fight song for their beloved Ilvermorny School. Have a listen below.
We find ourselves standing in Newt’s shed with the main cast quartet. Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) remarks that he and Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol) were talking about their time at school. Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler) is absolutely delighted at the prospect of a wizarding school in America. Queenie and Tina (Katherine Waterston) reveal they went to the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Massachusetts. There’s a tense moment between Queenie and Newt over which school is better, Hogwarts or Ilvermorny, but thankfully Tina breaks it up by starting the school’s fight song.
Both ladies sing it out, Tina needing a little more coaxing to put on a show than Queenie. They sing about the school’s founder who traveled from Ireland to America to start the school. They “choo-choose” Massachusetts as the settlement. It’s an adorable little tune that even Newt’s animals can’t help but listen and enjoy. At the end, Jacob claps and says what we’re all thinking every moment of the day: “I wanna be a wizard!”
J.K. Rowling already offered information as to which houses Tina and Queenie were sorted into. For the full lyrics to the school song, head over to this post from our friends at MuggleNet.com. And here’s the Hogwarts School Song, in case you forgot how silly it is.
