Game of Thrones Season 7: Could Spoilers Not Make it Through?

Although one major actor in Game of Thrones still hasn’t finished filming, one recent response to a question makes it seem as though they may be in trouble.

Note: Technically speaking, this won’t contain any real Game of Thrones spoilers, but it does contain a heavy amount of speculation.

As Game of Thrones continues to wrap up work on Season 7, we note that we haven’t seen much of Arya Stark. Granted, we know that she’ll likely make it up North and reunite with what’s left of her family, based on some photos that surfaced from the HBO promo in November of last year. Apparently, actress Maisie Williams hasn’t even finished filming, according to a new interview.

We tip our hats to our sister site, Winter is Coming, for this find. Williams’ film iBoy just premiered on Netflix, and that comes with a press tour, naturally enough. That included a stop on Simon Mayo’s Drivetime, a BBC Radio show. Unsurprisingly, talk turned to none other than Game of Thrones. Here’s where things get interesting.

Williams let on that she has not finished filming for Season 7 just yet. However, she doesn’t have much left to do. One would easily conclude that that means Arya survives the season, and Mayo did just that.

However, he got a little laugh as well as the bog-standard “wait and see” response from Williams. No, really, there was very much a laugh involved, and we’d be lying if we didn’t say it sounded a little sinister:

Granted, Game of Thrones hasn’t killed off an important Stark since the Red Wedding, where there was a two-for-one special. (Sorry, Rickon.) Of course, the show’s also walked back Jon Snow’s death.

Speculation follows.

So, how are some of the ways Arya could die? Could Winterfell be overrun if the Wall falls? Alternatively, does she head off to King’s Landing after visiting home one last time? It wouldn’t surprise us if she went south and either attempted to kill or killed Cersei. If it’s an attempt, she could be caught, and though the Sept of Baelor no longer stands as an excellent execution spot, we’re sure Cersei could come up with something. The queen has a particular flair for drama, wouldn’t you say?

We’re less concerned about Jaqen H’ghar sending a Faceless Man or two after her. Though she went back to being Arya Stark, he instead called her “no one”. However, that could easily change. Jaqen may not have the most authority.

Alternatively, we could be worried for no reason. Maybe Arya will survive to Season 8 after all.
