Mass Effect: Andromeda Trailers Introduce New Planets and Familiar Alien Races

Mass Effect: Andromeda released two new trailers. In it, we discover new planets, new enemies and get a look at some of our favorite alien races.

Of course, travelling to the Andromeda Galaxy means we’re going to be introduced to new planets. Instead of probing familiar planets like Eden Prime, the new trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda unveils a golden world, or “Habitat 7”. Presumably, it will be colonized by our new heroes. Then, we hear the narrator explain, “We’re marooned — 20,000 souls adrift at sea” as we see what’s left of the Citadel. Obviously, the previous trilogy revealed that this space station was actually a dormant relay. As the Pathfinder travels through space, they come across new enemies: The Archon.

Perhaps more importantly, the trailers also introduce us to a new and diverse team. Like previous entries, it consists of Krogans, Salarians (I hope this one sings when he works, too) and a female Turian.

From the press release:

"The new cinematic character trailer offers a glimpse at Pathfinder Ryder’s squadmates and allies in their search for humanity’s new home. The explorers find a little more than they bargained for, however, as the dangerous Kett Archon demonstrates that the uncharted Andromeda galaxy is also full of new perils and threats."

Additonally, we received the “Pathfinder Team Briefing” led by Cora Harper, the second-in-command aboard the Pathfinder:

"The latest Andromeda Initiative briefing video also released today introduces players to leading members of the human Pathfinder team on Ark Hyperion, including Pathfinder Alec Ryder, his children Scott and Sarah Ryder, Crisis Responder Liam Kosta and Operations Specialist Cora Harper, who together will lead humanity’s discovery of new worlds in the Andromeda Galaxy when Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on March 21."

To coincide with the game’s release, Funko plans to release a line of vinyls. The line will feature many new characters, including Sara Ryder, Peebee and Liam Kosta.

After making us wait so long, the Mass Effect team wants to make sure we feel excited for this game. It will probably enjoy a huge release when it hits shelves on March 21.
