Game of Thrones Teases Upcoming Live Concert Experience
By Ani Bundel
Game of Thrones is rolling into the four week promotional period for their latest project, the Live Concert Experience tour.
Do you hear that? It’s the sound of HBO and Game of Thrones launching into the four week promotional period before the debut of the next hotly anticipated offering from George R.R. Martin’s world of Westeros.
No, not Season 7, we’ve still got months to wait for that. This is the launch of the “filler” show that the production masterminded to keep excitement alive for the next season over the extended wait period we wound up having as the show transitions from 10 episodes over the spring television season to a seven episode series that debuts in summer. Known as the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, this traveling tour dedicated to the music of the show is gearing up for kick off on February 20th in Minneapolis.
Much like the TV show, the tour comes complete with teaser trailers on twitter.
Some are thankfully longer than others. This one gives a taste of the heat the show will be bringing to the arena and stadiums it will be playing.
This clip features “The Light of the Seven,” which outside of the main theme of the show is probably the most recognized piece of music that Ramin Djawadi has created for the series. (Though the mournful strains of Drogon’s Theme from Season 5 rank a very close third for me.) Benioff and Weiss in talking about the idea for the stage show have allude to seeing the orchestra recording “The Light of the Seven” was the piece of music that inspired the idea in the first place. Which is probably why staging a wildfire explosion was also touted as a major facet of the show.
