“Agents of SHIELD” falls back into the MCU nicely in this week’s episode, with a callback to “Captain America: Civil War.” Plus, more killer robot LMDs!

If you didn’t think Agents of SHIELD had enough killer robots, don’t worry! The life model decoys are just the beginning… probably. Let’s dive in to this week’s episode.

Not-So-Short Recap and Discussion

Five days ago, the real Agent May gets nicely confronted by Radcliffe regarding the first Aida and the Darkhold. And we get to see firsthand how May becomes their prisoner.

One day ago, we see into real May’s visions. It’s a funny loop of her constantly waking up after a massage and walking out, only to wake back up on the table again. But today? The new visions seem to keep her sedated.

Oh, but there’s a second LMD in play.

And there’s no new visions for May, as she’s well awake and ready to rock. We get a fun Aida vs. May fight scene that takes this week’s “Badass Moment of the Week” title. Actually, we get two of them!

Actually, it’s all her new vision. They can’t keep up with how fast May moves through their programming, so it’s only a matter of time before she truly escapes.

LMD!May also knows what she is, but has also learned that she won’t be able to tell anyone because of her programming.

On the rest of our SHIELD-front, Daisy has to sign the Sokovia Accords as a registered superpowered individual. But really it’s just a ploy to break into Senator Nadeer’s office and plant some surveillance to see what she’s actually doing.

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “Wake Up” – May races to find the truth about what happened to her, while Aida’s next move could mean the death of them all, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 24 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Jennifer Clasen)

During Daisy’s questioning, Senator Nadeer backs her into a corner. And then backs all of SHIELD into a corner as she parades Coulson and Elena into the courtroom in handcuffs.

It leads to a full investigation of SHIELD… or at least, it will. It still begs the question: who is the mole?

Radcliffe! SHIELD takes him in their clutches, except Fitz realizes that it’s not actually Radcliffe. It’s the second LMD!

Didn’t anyone learn anything from Ultron?!

Real life May has been moved. And her visions have been updated. She’s back in Bahrain in her visions with a slightly tweaked flight. She saves the girl and gets to call and tell Andrew about it.

Badass Moment of the Week

It’s the Aida vs. May showdown. Even after being tied up and sedated for a few days, she’s still able to hold her own. Aida throwing her across the room was pretty cool, too.

Best One-Liner

“There’s enough May in me to do what has to be done,” May growls. And it sounds so badass! Until she can’t even bring herself to moderately hurt Radcliffe.

Hey! Mack and Elena are a thing finally! I mean, I know they kissed a few episodes ago, but it’s nice to see them taking bigger steps forward… until Mack gets a mysterious text and takes off immediately. I mean, when you’re in a life of espionage, that’s what happens, right?

Has anyone else noticed the back half of this season has had a lot of Aaron Sorkin-esque walk-and-talk scenes? This week, it was Coulson and Elena walking to Nadeer’s office.
