NBC’s Smash Hit ‘This Is Us’ Has been Renewed for Seasons 2 and 3

The fans and cast of the wildly popular NBC television show This Is Us can rejoice because the show has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3.

Anyone who’s watched the NBC show This Is Us knows it’s one of the best acted and scripted shows on television. It has been lauded with several award nominations from the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice, Writers Guild and the NAACP.

Everyone expected This Is Us would be picked up for a second season, but nothing prepared the cast for the announcement that came. Since all the major cast members of the show were on hand for the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour, it was the perfect time to reveal it had been picked up for two more seasons.

The NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke was on hand to break the news to the cast. Lucky for us the This Is Us creator, Dan Fogleman was on hand to record video the moment the cast was told of the good news.

In the video, you can hear NBC’s Jennifer Salke say, “I didn’t want to say it in front of the big room, but when I go out there I’m going to order 36 more episodes of the show.” As you can see the cast is overjoyed and shocked by the news.

Lead actors Mandy Moore (Rebecca) and Milo Ventimiglia (Jack) posted a heartfelt personal thank you video to fans of This Is Us to Moore’s Instagram account.

This is great news of the cast of This is Us. The show has been nothing short of a phenomenon and really was the shot in the arm NBC drama need. In the past, Peacock Network was known for its outstanding drama shows like ER, The West Wing, and Parenthood. It looks as if we are going to add This Is Us to the list.
