Lin-Manuel Miranda Will Play Alexander Hamilton One Last Time
The creator of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, will return to the role with the Chicago cast to honor Oscar López Rivera who was commuted by Obama.
Lin-Manuel Miranda has been making waves this last year. From his hit musical Hamilton to doing the music for the new Disney movie Moana, Lin is seemingly always busy. But not too busy to keep him from returning to the role that made him a household name.
Since Hamilton took over the ears of our nation, Miranda has been pulled in each and every direction. But he sadly left the role last July. And now, for one last time (maybe who knows! He could come back), Lin will take on the role of the bastard, orphan, son of a whore once more.
Oscar Lopez Rivera was commuted by President Obama yesterday and has made its shock waves through the nation but, more specifically Chicago. So to celebrate the return of Rivera, Lin is going to play Hamilton for one night with the Chicago cast of the hit musical.
Lin tweeted to Melissa Mark-Viverito who never gave up trying to get Oscar Lopez Rivera freed from his prison sentence. He said that it would be an honor to play Hamilton for him the night he goes to see the hit musical.
There is no date set in stone for when Rivera will attend the show but at least we know Lin will be there.

The pride that Lin-Manuel Miranda has for his heritage and even this country is truly inspiring. He worked day in and day out for Hillary Clinton and continues to praise the work Obama has did. As we enter into the next four years ahead, we’re lucky to have someone has hopeful on our side.
