Fear not: Four new Potterverse books set to release in 2017

The magic is still alive for fans, with four new Potterverse books due out in early 2017, including a yearbook, coloring and activities galore.

Need a little magic for 2017? Thankfully, the fun is far from over for magical fans. Four new Wizarding World, Potterverse tie-in books are set to be released in early 2017, including a sequel to the films’ companion book, “J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Movie Magic Volume One: Extraordinary People and Fascinating Places.”

The kick off addition, set for release on January 31, 2017, is the “Harry Potter: Hogwarts: A Cinematic Yearbook” from Scholastic. The stunning visuals are for all super-fans of the eight original Harry Potter films, and will include plenty of activities and pictures from the films to enjoy, including being sorted into one of the four houses, attending classes, even some Quidditch related adventures – whatever one’s heart can imagine at Hogwarts, really.

Curious Creatures

Up next for release on March 14, 2017, “J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Movie Magic Volume Two: Curious Creatures” by Ramin Zahed features everything there is to know about the creatures of the wizarding world. With detailed creature profiles, vivid artwork coloring the pages and insights from the making of “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” and all eight Harry Potter films, the volume will also include bonus materials such as pop-ups, posters and more.

Set to release the same day, “J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Magical Film Projections: Creatures” from Insight Editions will feature black line illustrations on framed acetate pages. Meaning fans at home can project the scenes on the pages with a simple “lumos” (or their flashlights, either works). Dobby the House Elf, Buckbeak the Hippogriff and more familiar (and unfamiliar) creatures will come to life in a dark room along the wall or ceiling with just the help of a flashlight. Talk about magic.

Artifacts Poster Coloring Book

Lastly, coming May 9, 2017, fans can enjoy Scholastic’s “Harry Potter Magical Artifacts Poster Coloring Book“. Including everything from the golden snitch itself to Hermione’s bottomless bag and more. Pictures are easily removed and are on high quality card stock paper for displaying afterward. (I personally prefer a bedroom wall littered with artwork.)
