Caitriona Balfe Dishes on Outlander Season 3 Much Anticipated Scene

We’ve got another little tidbit of Outlander Season 3 news, and it’s courtesy of our very own Sassanach, Caitriona Balfe.

Our real life Sassanach, Caitriona Balfe is still not telling us when season 3 of Outlander will air, but she is telling everyone some juicy tidbits to hold us over. Lucky for us this little morsel came when she was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly at the Golden Globes awards this past Sunday. When asked about filming the much-anticipated print shop scene, she indicated it has already been shot. “I think it was written very beautifully,” Balfe told EW. “Matt B. Roberts wrote it. It has every emotion in it. The excitement, the tentativeness, the nerves, everything. I think it’s really beautiful.”

This is great news for Outlander fans who have been waiting so long for the Claire and Jamie reunion. Claire time-traveling to Jamie’s timeline, and them meeting years later has to be perfect. Balfe knows what’s at stake with the reunion scene that she even said, “We better get it right.” And she is absolutely right. This might be the third most important scene in the entire eight book series. I hope Outlander can somehow reproduce the feelings of anticipation and fear that Diana Gabaldon so expertly conjured in Voyager.

Outlander writer Matt B. Roberts wrote the episode where the infamous “print shop” will appear, and even sent Twitter fans into a tizzy back in November with tweeting a small snippet of the script:

Outlander production designer Jon Steele also to took to Twitter and shared a photo with letters from a printing press. Knowing Outlander like we do, I’m sure they spare no expense to find the perfect letters blocks.

Outlander fans are some of the best in the world, so it wasn’t shocking to see many of Balfe’s fans were on hand to cheer for her during her Golden Globes red carpet arrival. This was her second Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a drama series. Unfortunately, Caitriona Balfe did not bring home the win for Outlander. That honor went to Claire Foy for The Crown. That’s fine with us, though, because we know she’s a winner in our hearts.
