Wizarding World Orlando To Start Nighttime Shows?

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando is rumored to be considering adding nighttime shows to the current line up for 2017.

Brand new rumors out of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida suggest there may be new and exciting things on the way for 2017. Over the Christmas break, Screamscape trumpeted that the park, which has been looking for ways to jazz up the Potter attraction was considering adding new shows–at night.

According to the Orlando Informer, there is truth behind the story.

"Universal is currently developing the show, and it is going to bow in the new year. We here at OI HQ have been hearing whispers about this exciting new development for the past several months or so, and while we’re happy to finally share some of these details with you, we do have to add one important caveat to the mix: we don’t know everything that is currently on the drawing board, and, even if we did, there’s the big likelihood – knowing Universal – that things would change in the final months leading up to opening night."

According to their sources the nighttime show would include taking a page from Disney and using Hogwarts Castle “as the canvas for a short projected film” (See video above for the Disney example.)

As for what the show might entail, they have their guesses (including tributes to all four Hogwarts Houses.) But that’s all speculation at this point. What they do suggest is this might be tied to the never ending rumors of holiday themed events at the park, including the hope for a Halloween night event to celebrate the death of Voldemort in 1981 as well as a Christmas themed Yule Ball, which would draw insane attendance if they were to go through with it.

We’ll have to wait until later in the year for Universal to confirm these rumors. Until then, we’ll wait for the event we *do* know is happening: The Celebration of Harry Potter, coming at the end of January.
