Delightful Behind-the-Scenes Photos From the Fantastic Beasts Set

Fantastic Beasts was a welcome addition to the Harry Potter universe. Now we have a chance to look at some of the behind-the-scenes action with all your favorite characters!

We had a great time watching all the magic of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them unfold on the silver screen. Audiences couldn’t get enough either, as the film took in over 600 million at the global box office. Now we’re getting some tie-in material about how this whimsical original story made it to the big screen. Our friends over at SnitchSeeker.com alerted us to some of these incredible behind-the-scenes photos that we are just so excited to share with you.

Bringing Scenes to Life

Filmmakers relied heavily on green screen shots, which allowed the post-production crew to artistically render all the magic into the scenes. In these photos, we see Eddie Redmayne (as Newt Scamander) high on top a tree in what later becomes the Central Park Zoo. In the second photo, director David Yates is instructing all the wizards how to act regally inside the MACUSA headquarters.

Large jib cranes with high-end cameras attached were used in order to get those long, overhead shots. These are snaps on the New York City set and the interiors of the MACUSA.

Staying in Character

Things stayed light on the set, as with any film in the Potterverse. Dan Fogler shares a giggle as he and Eddie Redmayne are covered in glittery jewelry during the Niffler hunt scene.

Makeup artists help Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston stay fresh and spruced up before filming another scene.

Here’s Ezra Miller, beaming in between takes. Credence Barebone didn’t have too much to smile about in the film so this seems a welcome change for him.

And then there’s this one. It’s our favorite, Dan Fogler as Jacob, looking just as sweet as the fantastic scones and mini-pies made behind him.
