7. Kirby Krackle featuring The Doubleclicks

The Doubleclicks are Angela and Aubrey Webber, a “nerd-pop-folk sister duo” who write hilarious songs about everything from Pride and Prejudice to Jurassic Park. Kirby Krackle is a nerd rock band featuring the music of Kyle Stevens. He writes and sings songs based on comic books, video games, and movies. When these bands team up, you get this amazing (Hoth) version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” based on Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

Together The Doubleclicks and Kirby Krackle have a sound similar to the duo She & Him. Like Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward’s band, they have the perfect amount of cuteness without being overbearing. There is just the right amount of jingle bells mixed in with the guitars.

The hilarious song is a duet between Han and Leia with Leia trying to keep Han from venturing outside the base to look for Luke. The song switches from Han’s concern about Luke to his realization of just why Leia is asking him to stay and it’s pretty great. “I thought Luke was your guy”, he says to which Leia replies, “He couldn’t use the Force if he tried.” Han changes his mind pretty quickly once Leia asks him to, “Show (her) what a smuggler can do”. Letting your brother freeze out there so you can make your move? Ice cold, Leia.
