Full List of Golden Globe 2017 Nominees

The Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, as the Oscars futures race heats up.

The Golden Globe nominations for 2016 were made this morning, and though some categories were exactly as expected, others had some shocking snubs. Previous Golden Globe winners Don Cheadle and Laura Dern, as well as Golden Globe nominee Anna Kendrick were tapped to announced the nominees from the The Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, which hosts the awards show every year.

In the movie categories, quite a few expected movies made it into the running. La La Land, which may be the biggest indie hit in years, lead the nominations. It garnered seven nominations, including one for best picture. Manchester By The Sea, and Moonlight were two other favorites that found themselves with multiple nominations.

Meanwhile, Lin-Manuel Miranda continued his streak in the awards world by landing a nomination for his musical work in Moana, where he is up against Justin Timberlake for that Trolls earworm “Can’t Stop The Feeling.”

In television, the usual suspects mostly showed up, with The Crown, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, This Is Us and Westworld all in the running for Best Drama, while Atlanta, Blackish, Mozart In The Jungle, Transparent, and Veep are the ones rounded up for comedy.

It was announced also that Meryl Streep will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her lifetime achievement in film.
