Michelle Obama Slays In Chainmail for Her Last State Dinner

Michelle Obama’s final major State Dinner formal appearance before the election was last night, and the First Lady did it in style.

Michelle Obama has been a fashion icon ever since she stepped foot in the White House, but this is no paper doll Jackie O fashion plate. She’s not only been a role model for women, an outspoken advocate of her chosen causes and a force to be reckoned with, but she’s done it with a sex appeal that’s slayed all comers.

Last night was her final formal State Dinner, featuring the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife, Agnese Landini, and for the occasion she turned it up to eleven. No staid feminine ballgown, no formal gussies frills and furbelows. Instead, Michelle O rocked one of the slinkiest designers working in formalwear today: Donatella Versace. The number she picked was from the Versace Couture brand line, known as Atelier Versace.

And perhaps knowing the slings and arrows that have been hurled at herself and her husband by racist hysterics in the Trump campaign, she made it chainmail to boot. Rose gold, of course.

Let’s take a look at that dress from a couple more angles, shall we? After all, this is our final turn with one of the most glamorous, yet intelligent First Ladies of our lifetime. We may never see her like again.
