Tunes for Tuesday: Lady Gaga “A-YO”
A-YO! Lady Gaga just released a new track off her upcoming album Joanne and it’s this fall’s best new party anthem. Listen now!
The Lady of pop is making us go gaga for her new stuff, and the newest stuff happens to be the up-tempo funky-bluesy-poppy party anthem “A-YO”. Complete with lyrics about smokin’ people, gettin’ off, and mirrors on the ceiling, this one’s sure to elicit something from Gaga’s adoring fans and casual listeners alike.

Can we just take a second to appreciate what we just heard? It’s pop, but there are definite blues and funk-inspired sounds throughout the track, including Gaga’s drawl, which doesn’t make a ton of sense but I love none-the-less. Her vocal talent is on display, as she hits some gravelly notes that sent shivers up my arms and neck.
GET. IT.
This song makes me wanna MOVE. It’s a party anthem in a time of year when we’re about ready to retire the summer jams and party anthems of months past. It sort of feels like one of those songs that should have its own dance, like “Cha Cha Slide” or “Harlem Shake”. Hell, even “Gangnam Style” had a dance.
