The Bush That May Have Accidentally Taken Down Trump

facebooktwitterreddit

Billy Bush is not the Bush we thought would end up taking down Donald Trump but in this most recent upset, that is to be the case. Even if it’s an accident.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse. Yes, even after the reveal that Trump was in multiple Pornos, it got worse. This Trump upset is a real doozy. A video was unearthed this afternoon containing audio of Donald Trump and Billy Bush talking about women that they’d attempted to sleep with. The timing of the audio makes it a few months just after Trump’s marriage to Melania.

What’s disturbing about the audio is that Trump repeatedly talks about how he thinks it’s okay to just kiss women without their consent because he’s a celebrity. “Grab them by the pussy.” That’s a direct quote. From the man who is the Republican nominee for the highest office in the land, for the most powerful position in the free world. In a year where we have the first female nominee. They like that kind of stuff, according to him. Sit with that for a moment.

Trump’s team is trying to pass the whole thing off as ‘locker room’ chatter between the two men and that they were young and idiotic back then. Billy Bush was 33 years old and Donald Trump was 59. They were old enough to know what they were saying was sexist, misogynistic, and mostly likely illegal, in the eyes of HR.

But hey, pass it off as whatever you want, we have the transcripts. Donald says to ‘grab them by the pussy’ referring to women and that they like it because he’s famous. This man wants to be the leader of the free world and thinks that’s okay to say.

And even Jeb Bush, distant relation of Billy, had something to say about the whole situation.

Even if it was a private conversation, that isn’t a joke anyone should say. And since it was on a set and around people enough so that it ended up recorded, maybe it wasn’t so private after all.

A bunch of apologies

With this story comes a bunch of fake apologies from Trump’s campaign as well as Billy Bush issuing his own statement. Trump’s apology was more like “if you’re offended, I’m sorry” where Billy realizes he was at fault. Donald just thinks that if someone gets upset, well then he’s sorry but what he said isn’t necessarily wrong. It’s your fault for having such delicate feelings and being offended. We’ll have to see how much of the country disagrees with that come November 8th.

It’s also not a real apology if you say “someone else said worse than I did to me in a private conversation that no one else heard”.

No matter your political affiliation or who you’re voting for, this is something big. This changes how Donald Trump should be seen. Because if Republican and Democrats are both saying he’s wrong, maybe we should listen. And those politicians who still say they stand by him, like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, should be judged by that stance too.
