A role model for women around the world, Beyoncé shows off her girl power in her impressive tracklist. We break down her Top 20 moments.

We don’t call her “Queen Bey” for nothing. In every avenue she pursues, Beyoncé has yet to disappoint her legions of fans. She’s earned her crown, and she’s never stopped giving back in her work and the inspiration it lends. She radiates a confidence, fierceness, and vitality that we should all try to emulate, and she’s not one to downplay what she’s got.

“I am a woman and when I think, I must speak,” Beyoncé once said. In one fell swoop, she validated a woman’s right to have her voice heard, in a world where such freedom still necessitates validation. Beyoncé is a woman who speaks for women. It’s a significant milestone for feminism when someone as high-profile as Beyoncé identifies as a feminist herself, and encourages the movement in her professional life.

But Beyoncé’s influence isn’t always on such a grand scale. No, she manages to touch her fans’ lives in ways that are universal, but feel personal. We connect with her music because she connects with us, which is the foundation of any relatable, lasting art. And what says “art” quite like the pangs of every kind of love you can imagine? Beyoncé tackles them all—soulmates, one-night stands, recurring, fixer-uppers, and those who weren’t worth the effort, after all. Whatever relationship woe you’re experiencing, Beyoncé’s probably got a song for it. It’s lyrical soup for the soul.

For those of us who first experienced Beyoncé as a member of Destiny’s Child, we sure could use more of her wisdom now that we’re in that twenty-something stage. When your Facebook feed is full of engagement announcements and you’ve still got your breakup movies queued up on Netflix (just in case), more times than not you just need a dose of Queen Bey to put things in perspective. So boot up your iTunes and sing it out with us as we dive into 20 of Beyoncé’s best post-relationship lyrics.
